Test Results from FilterMag
Following an oil-change, I sent in the oil filter back to A-Filter in Gothenburg, who forwarded it to an independent test company, Bodycote Materials Testing AB. It was interesting to find out what performance it had on oil filtration and to investigate the pieces of metal that were kept in the filter instead of returning back into the engine.
99% of the pieces that were found inside the filter and held back by the magnet were 25 microns or less. This is very interesting information, since these had not been filtered by a standard diesel filter, which only work for particles larger than 30 microns.
Therefore, our FilterMag seems to do a very important job, despite its ridiculously easy design and I can strongly recommend adding one. For a full test report (in Swedish only), see here.

Regina's oil filter cut open with the magnet still attached. You can easily see the metal particles stuck to the oilfilter from the inside. Without the magnet, these had returned back to the engine!
